Supporting Ontario's game industry through interactive cross-industry events!
Led by local experts.
In 2026, we are hosting a cross-industry game jam that aims to increase knowledge of game-based learning (GBL) in the education, health and tech and game industries.
The game jam will facilitate more innovative use of games in the province, increase the demand for Ontario-made games both within Ontario and beyond.

Game-Based Learning is when using a game makes learning happen. Some really great examples include learning about self-care while playing The Sims or learning problem solving while playing Minecraft.
Gamification refers to the use of game elements within a learning activity that is not a game. An example of this is if you take some flashcards and turn them into a game of Jeopardy!
Both methods make learning fun! We've decided to focus on Game-Based Learning to support and educate the game industry in building Game-Based Learning right into their game design.
