You Can Play This Game Jam

Our accessibility-focused event that inspires innovation in the game and design industries.

About This Event

Noodle Goose Games challenges the games community in Toronto (and beyond) to make games with accessible design and features that are genuinely fun, exciting and buzzworthy. We host an annual game jam that focuses on reframing accessibility as an act of game design rather than a matter of settings or compliance.
What is a Game Jam?
A game jam is an event where teams develop a video game on a set timeline, based on a theme revealed at the start of the event. Developers pre-register for the game jam solo or in teams. The game jam theme is revealed on day 1 and developers build a playable game prototype based on this theme. Games are submitted online by the event deadline. A panel of judges review all submissions. Selected games are showcased and awarded at a live ceremony during Toronto Games Week in collaboration with a local game studio.

Why Accessibility?
Accessibility is too often treated as a checklist item; Noodle Goose Games believes that we can do better. Accessibility can inform our industry’s creative design choices to make games more exciting, fun and more importantly, can bring more people to games.
